How Do You Say "Godzilla" in Chinese?

This photograph made me laugh out loud. It looks like an erector set version of two Godzillas facing each other!
What's really going on is China is going crazy, gearing up for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. As if persecuting Chinese Christians and government dissidents isn't enough, they have to go crazy building things to impress other nations. Their goal is to "not fall into the trap of racing for height" by building a "loop folded in space." Funny! I think it looks neat, even though it is born out of fierce competition. But it looks like Godzilla facing Godzilla right now.

This one really made me smile.. brought back memories of watching Godzilla, Rodan and Kong on WOR-TV on our B&W set growing up in Staten Island.. I loved those flicks!

I think I watched every Godzilla movie ever shown on TV back in the 70s and 80s. Syracuse had a station that played "Monster Movie Madhouse" all day Saturday. Yeah, "Godzilla vs. Mothra," "Godzilla vs. Rodan," "Godzilla vs...." what was that big turtle's name?
The Chinese version, judging by the photo, could be called "Godzilla vs. Godzilla."
Over the summer I got a video of those old Godzilla movies and [l;ayed it for my kids. My boys loved it, but the girls thought it was terribly cheesy. Imagine what was passed off as entertainment to us old folks back then!

Gamara is the turtle! And Mothra is the larva/moth and Rodan is the bird and Ghidra is the three headed one and Megalon is the roach looking thing (we call it MegaRoach) and Angurris is the spiny one.. and all the rest of the original crew...great memories!
