Trip to Corning Museum of Glass

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

After our lovely drive through Geneva, NY, and down the side of Seneca Lake, we arrived at our destination: Corning, NY. Corning is not too far from the Pennsylvania border. The area is very scenic. The Chemung River flows through the city- it was frozen as we passed by it. The Appalachian Hills rise up sharply around the city and surround it with their soft peaks. Even in winter, the area is lovely. The city has this "old timey" town feel. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

I have posted only Part One of our visit to the Museum of Glass. We spent over four hours there, and another two at the Rockwell Museum of Western Art. What a day! I'll keep you updated as I add more posts.

You can read Part 1 here at NewYorkTraveler.net. Stay tuned for Parts 2 and 3!
