A Great Site for Builders of Walls
Friday, April 11, 2008
Wall building is a good thing. Walls are built to protect and provide shelter from storms. I found a marvelous website called Wallbuilders for anyone who loves American history and current events. It's all from historical perspective and it is run by history scholar David Barton and Congressman Rick Green of Texas. Barton has a huge museum filled with artifacts and original manuscripts from America's early days which we hope to see someday. I thoroughly enjoyed the discussion (a radio broadcast) on the Iroquois and the Constitution. If you are interested in it, go here and look for "Friday, March 28, 2008. It's Good News Friday!"
The discussion begins with a letter from a listener, who has a public school teacher friend. This listener was shocked to hear the teacher claim that the Iroquois League influenced the writing of the U.S. Constitution. I have heard about this in schools, too-- it's the latest fad. A few years ago, it was claimed that Christopher Columbus was really a Muslim and therefore the Muslims discovered America. Everybody always wants a piece of the pie, huh? It's amazing, the crap that flows through school classrooms...
These guys at Wallbuilders don't fear tackling the hard issues, either.
