Fall Foliage Report : Gonna Fly Now
Thursday, September 15, 2011
I noticed yesterday that the tree leaves in my area are *just* starting to turn. News coming from the Fall Foliage reporters is that when the leaves do turn, it'll be a fast change. SO if you have a hankering to see the glorious display of autumn colors, you best set your calendars and your tablets.
You can check out the I Love NY Fall Foliage Report for up-to-date information. They have a great map of foliage changes. According to the reports, they expect a 35% color change for Tupper Lake this weekend! That's mighty fast! The excessive rainfall and the now chilly weather is contributing to the changes. It was humid and 70 yesterday; today, it's struggling to top 50 degrees, and raining. Frost is expected in rural areas tonight and tomorrow.
We're expecting to see the autumn colors this season. I love traveling in autumn. This is a photo from a few years ago, the last time I visited the Adirondacks in autumn.
Fall is in the air! Cool weather, apples, the smell of cinnamon and dried leaves will soon be in the air.... ahhhh.
