Here's some good news for New Yorkers- and it's about time, eh? The Senate has deemed upon us lowly taxpaying peons that they will ALLOW our state parks to be open for the weekend! Isn't that totally generous and lordly of them?!

While I'm happy that the parks will be open.... doesn't stuff like this just reek of New York's patroon past? We are merely the serfs... we pay for the land, we support the land... but in the hands of the politicians-- those true lords and nobles-- we are merely farm implements. And every once in a while, we get a bone and a little coal for our campfires! Oh yay!

No, I'm not delving into natural hemorrhoid treatment.. I'm just cranky about this situation, k??? Ask the taxpayers whether we'd rather pay taxes to support all the state historic sites, or if we'd rather pay to support the bloated pensions of 20 former New York politicians/state workers.... hmmmm.... But what are we being forced to pay?
