While many New Yorkers are plotting their next travel excursion for the summer, this is what we are up to:

Yes, we are gutting the kitchen. And the laundry, dining room, and downstairs bathroom. I'm finally getting the place modernized: electric! plumbing! insulation! solid walls! real flooring! No more lead pipes, no more knob-and-tube wiring, leaky toilets, cold drafts, and moldy countertops! Yay!

So we work all day long right now. We may take a few weekends off.... but right now, we are on a demolition blitz. *sigh* It's long, hard, dirty work. I told the kids that when we are dne, we are going on a VACATION!
