Unraveling the Mysteries of MS
Friday, October 08, 2010
Now that the holiday season is soon approaching, lots of people turn their attentions to charities. Central New York, despite it being one of the regions of lowest incomes in the state, is one of the most charitable. That makes me proud to be a Central New Yorker. :D We have numerous charity drives, walks and runs and relays, and just plain old donations cans everywhere. People are SO generous in this area toward others who are sick or needy.
One such need deserving our attention is the issue of MS, or Multiple Sclerosis. It's a rare disease of the nervous system, afflicting women more than men, and North Americans(especially Canadians) more than any other location. No one seems to know exactly how it is caused; it has been speculated that lack of sunlight, environmental toxins, and diet play a role. Also, Hispanics, African-Americans, and Native Indians seem to be immune. It's a bit of a mystery. And there is speculation that a special, Multiple Sclerosis Diet that is full of fresh fruits and vegetables, helps with MS. Of course! I have heard many good things about the raw food diet.
Anyway, You can go to the website called AllAboutMS.com to learn more about MS, MS treatment, and how to help people with MS. The website is very informative, and I learned a lot! I'm really hoping that more research into the disease will help many, many people. Check out the website to learn more about MS.
